Interior architecture design collaboration. In 1996-97 Shaffer was hired to work for Carmen Loats Gillis, head of the Architectural Design Group at the Shorenstein Companies through Huntsman Architectural Group.

Participating in numerous tenant improvement remodels in Shorenstein buildings in San Francisco and the East Bay, Shaffer learned the art of using color and materials to create exceptional work environments from one of the best.
